VJ ENTTER

VJ Entter (Raúl Berrueco, Santander-1977) Widely known for his visuals focused on retro arcade and low-fi gaming graphics from the first era of home entertainment consoles such as the Commodore64, Spectrum and Nintendo's NES and Gameboy. He triggers his images using a self-coded program for VJing. He often surprises the audience with special setups such as MIDI keytar, wireless controllers, double VJ sessions over 3 or more screens and on LED (light-emitting diode) walls. Entter artworks and performances has been presented in several festivals, clubs, art centers, and galleries across Europe, Asia and North America.Recently, Entter has started to work with performer Rigo Pex in a series of concerts (Meneo) which not only investigate new possibilities in applied new media to live music, but also the experimental transformation of their presence into a sort of unpredictable happening that apply peer pressure to the public in order to induce wild or unconventional behavior. MENEO are two boys with Gameboys. Rigo plays his self-coined, self-bastardised form of electropical straight off his mini machine. Raul (VJ Entter) creates atari-worshipping, brain-invading VJ images off his. This is 8-Bit with soul. On the Spanish scene they have created a tazmanian devil of energy that has left no man standing. They have a loyal and obsessive band of merry followers who never miss their shows. Whether they come for the bleepy cumbia, the naked jumping or the world-class visuals is not important. The Meneo phenomenon brings the party like no-one else can.
